Barbering Level 2&3
The NVQ Level 2 and 3 Diploma in Barbering, fully government funded for ages 16-18 only 1-2 days a week
Entry Requirements:
There are no formal entry requirements
The purpose of the Level 2 and 3 NVQ Diploma in Barbering qualification is to provide the understanding of becoming a Barber. There are mandatory and optional units in this qualification.. You will be expected to gather evidence for each unit you study and you will place the evidence in your portfolio. After you have completed this qualification, you will a qualified Barber and can apply for employment.
Introduction :
All Mandatory units in Level 2:
- Cut men's hair using basic techniques
- Cut facial hair to shape using basic techniques
- Dry and finish men's hair
- Create basic outlines and detangling hair
- Advise and consult with clients
- Shampoo,condition and treat the hair and scalp
- Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work
All Optional units in Level 2 (Pick 2):
- Relax Hair
- Assist with shaving services
- Colour and lighten men's hair
- Perm and neutralise hair
- Plait and twist hair
- Temporarily attach hair to enhance a style
- Fufill salon reception duties
All Mandatory units in level 3:
- Creatively cut hair using a combination of Barbering techniques
- Design and create a range of facial hair shapes
- Provide shaving services
- Provide client consultation services
All Optional Units in level 3:
- Provide a variety of relaxing services
- Design and create patterns in hair
- Hair colour correction services
- Develop, enhance and evaluate your creative hairdressing skills
- Provide specialist hair and scalp treatments
- Perm and Neutralise hair
- Colour and lighten men's hair
- Contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of promotional activities
- Contribute to the financial effectiveness of the business
- Fulfill salon reception duties
