Hairdressing level 2&3
Course Structure:
The NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Hairdressing, fully government funded for all aged 16-18
- 1-2 Days a week
Government funding is a subject to the following eligibility criteria:
- You must not be on a government funded course already
- You must have been living in the UK or EU for 3 years or more
Entry Requirements:
There are no formal entry requirements for NVQ 2 Hairdressing
Introduction:
The purpose of level 2 and Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing qualification is to provide your knowledge, skills and understanding for you to become a stylist. This qualification is designed for learners aged 16+. You will gather evidence of the practical skills and your knowledge for each unit you are studying for and it will go into your portfolio for this qualification. Once you have completed your qualification, you will be bale to apply for employment as a junior hairdresser/stylist.
All Mandatory units in Level 2:
- Style and finish hair
- Set and dress hair
- Cut hair using basic techniques
- Colour and lighten hair
- Advise and consult with clients
- Shampoo,condition and treat the hair and scalp
- Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work
Optional Units in Level 2:
- Relax Hair
- Perm and Neutralise Hair
- Plait and twist hair
- Temporarily attach hair to enhance a style
- Remove hair extensions
- Fulfill salon reception duties
- Cut men's hairstyles
All Mandatory units in Level 3:
- Creatively style and dress hair
- Creatively cut hair using a combination of techniques
- Creatively colour and lighten hair
- Provide client consultation services
All Optional Units in Level 3:
- Provide a variety of relaxing services
- Hair Colour correction services
- Provide creative hair extension services
- Create a variety of permed effects
- Develop, enhance and evaluate your creative hairdressing skills
- Provide specialist hair and scalp treatments
- Contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of promotional activities
- Contribute to the financial effectiveness of the business
- Fulfill salon reception duties
- Cut men's hairstyles
